In always looking for ways to help the community, we participate in local events that help raise awareness and funds for great causes. And, we wanted to tell you about one we are currently sponsoring to get you involved.
Camp Good Grief is having a 5K and one-mile walk on Sunday, September 30th at 2:00 p.m. The race is at Memorial Park Cemetery.
They are the Mid-South’s first children’s bereavement camp. It gives hope to children, ages 6 to 12, who have lost a loved one. The camp is a supportive and enjoyable environment where kids can get help with their grief and be around other kids who have experienced the same thing.
The Camp Good Grief 5k is a family fun event. Besides the 5K and one-mile walk, there are moon bounces, face painting, and games. Also, the event offers treats like hamburgers and cotton candy as well as beverages.
The camp is made possible through a grant from Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation as well as from donations and partnerships with local businesses.
This includes our Memphis flower shop and our other family business, Pugh’s Earthworks. Plus, other local businesses that participate include Mister Tree and Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
Awards will follow after the race and walk. Please join us for this event. Or, if you can’t, we’d love to have you donate to this worthy cause.
