Best-Selling Blooming Plants and How to Care For Them

You can transplant them into bigger containers or a plant bed in your garden to enjoy them for even longer. Here are some tips on taking care of blooming plants so you can enjoy them for years to come. Overall, flowering plants thrive when they have proper light, temperature, moisture, and nutrients. Light Most blooming plants do not like intensely bright sunshine but prefer indirect light. You may need to move them around the house throughout the seasons to get the best indirect light possible. Water Blooming plants like to alternate between wet and dry soil conditions.  You'll need to regularly check soil moisture every few days. Stick your finger in the soil up to your first knuckle and see what it feels like. If it is dry, add enough water to wet the soil all the way to the bottom of the pot. Be sure to use a pot that lets any excess water drain out.  Do not water the flowering plant again until the soil feels thoroughly dry. Temperature Most blooming plants do well in moderate temperatures, including night temperatures of 60° to 65° F and day temperatures of 70° to 80° F. Fertilizer Since the amount of soil and nutrients available in a small pot is limited, small quantities of plant food are desirable every few weeks to ensure the blooming plant is well-fed. Follow the directions on the fertilizer package to ensure the right mix of food and water to help the blooming plant thrive throughout the year.

Unique Ideas to Make This Mother’s Day Still Special

With Mother's Day coming up quickly on Sunday, May 10th, you may be wondering what you can do since COVID-19 and local area restrictions may mean that local brunch spot,  favorite restaurant, or spa can't be the focal point of treating Mom this year. That's okay because all it means is that you can get more creative this year for Mother's Day. Here are some ideas how to show Mom the same amount of love and appreciation for this Mother's Day: Living at Home with Mom This is the time to let Mom enjoy some time off. She's had so much more to navigate these last few weeks with everyone at home, including her own remote work, her new role as substitute teacher for the online learning with the kids, and more meals to dream up. Mom could use a break so make sure she gets it. Take on her chores, give her some alone time, and fire up that barbecue to take some meal planning off her hands. It's also a good time for the kids to get creative and make Mom cards and other art work as a personal gift for Mother's Day. Get her favorite flowers delivered from Pugh's or a special gift set that includes spa products and then keep an eye on the kids so she can recreate a spa at home and in peace and quiet! Most importantly, tell Mom how much you love and appreciate what she does. That's priceless. Missing Mom on Mother's Day If you no longer live with Mom and can't stop by to see her, here are some ideas to still make Mother's Day special for her: Schedule a meal delivery if her favorite Memphis restaurant is still open for delivery options. She gets a delicious meal and you help sustain a local Memphis business. Send her a special bouquet, plant, or gift package from Pugh's. We have a beautiful selection this year with all types of arrangements, floral designs, and stunning containers. New gift packages are also available with more edible and spa options. Have a video call with Mom and the family with Zoom or another service. You can all enjoy a face-to-face conversation so she can see you and maybe the grandkids. You can also work together with the family to turn it into a fun game or trivia night. Get someone to put a sign in Mom's front yard that says "Best Mom Ever Lives Here." These signs are popping up as a great way to celebrate a birthday or graduation so you can also leverage the idea for Mother's Day. Do a drive-by parade to celebrate Mom with honking, signs, balloons, and music. Order Today! Pugh's Flowers is proud of the beautiful gifts we have for Mother's Day this year!  Mom deserves a beautiful bouquet, essential oil bath set, fragrant candle, gourmet chocolates, or a blooming plant! Shop and order for Mother's Day now!

Mothers Day Is May 10th

If you are like most of us, you haven't been able to see your mom in quite some time. Some of our Mom's live in different states. Others live just down the road, but with the stay at home mandates and social distancing requirements, we just have not been able to spend any quality time with them. Whatever your circumstance, now would be a great time to send a beautiful floral arrangement to her. The Benefits Of Fresh Flowers Flowers are always a great Mother's Day gift idea. There is nothing better than receiving a beautiful, farm fresh flower arrangement. The fresh flower designs in our Mother's Day floral collection include some stunning designs. A bouquet of flowers is the perfect way to brighten your Mom's day. Studies over the years point to the fact that fresh flower bouquets are in fact one of the most preferred gifts at Mother's Day. Not only are the beautiful, a fresh floral design will literally fill any room with a wonderful aroma. Delivery Options Available We offer a number of different delivery options. Traditionally, we provide nationwide same day delivery, or local same day or express flower delivery service. Nationwide same day flower delivery is the perfect solution if you need to send flowers to your mom and she lives in another state or a city that is not close to where you are. During Mother's Day, nationwide delivery is one of the most heavily utilized delivery requests we receive. The shelter in place and non-essential business closure mandates have made nationwide delivery a bit more problematic for this Mother's Day. We are still going to be able to provide you with nationwide same day service this year, in most cases. Still, with everything going on right now with the pandemic, there may be a handful of situations where we cannot guarantee service. In the greater Memphis and Southaven area, we are able to provide local same day, no contact delivery. In many cases, we can also still offer express delivery service. Currently, all of our retail locations closed. All orders must be placed either through our website or by phone. We operate four floral design centers. Our primary phone number for customers to use in ordering flowers is (901) 363-6233. When you order for local same day or express service, our delivery team will contact you when they are in the process of delivering your arrangement. We are following social distancing mandates by utilizing what we are referring to as no contact delivery. Meaning, we will alert you to the arrival of your arrangement, then leave the fresh flower bouquet on your doorstep.   Darling Dragonfly Bouquet As delightful as a dragonfly darting through a secret garden, this feminine bouquet of roses and lilies brings joy to all!
